Until death do us part

It was the 1970’s, and as a refection of the times, we wrote our own vows for our wedding. I have copies of what we promised each other that warm Sunday afternoon, but for the life of me, I can’t remember a syllable of what either of us vowed that day. It is a good thing that God remembers not only our words, but the intent of our hearts.

After 30 years together, Bill and I both agree that the classic vow captures every facet of what it means to be married:
“…to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.

We had a wonderful anniversary celebration: We went to dinner the night of our anniversary to Allegauer’s Fireside, the place where our combo wedding/reception was held. The next day, we headed to the beautiful Castle In The Country for a couple of days of pampering and celebration.

I am a grateful woman. I have been married to my best friend for 30 years – and will continue to walk side-by-side with him, serving the Lord, until death do us part.

Sharing is caring!

  1. I am also a grateful man having been married to my best friend for 30 years. God knows what is good for both of us. And now…back to to our regularly scheduled program.
